The good times most definitely rolled when Louisiana traditional music heroes BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet came to Raleigh for their Down Home Concert debut in 2025. (In fact, guitar player David Doucet believed it was the first time the band has played in Raleigh at all, though they have played elsewhere in the Triangle.) Now celebrating their 51st year as a band, this Grammy-winning group blends the sounds of their Acadian heritage with jazz, blues, rock, zydeco, swamp pop, and more for festive, flavorful stew. At their Down Home Concert, BeauSoleil played songs and tunes from across their catalog, filling the Fletcher Opera Theater with tapping feet and warm applause.

The show was opened by Western NC traditional musician William Ritter, who showcased ballads and tunes rooted in Appalachia using his haunting voice, fiddle, and guitar.
