The Loblollies are a youth band that formed out of PineCone’s summer bluegrass camps and monthly youth jams. The Raleigh area band features Alanabeth Duncan (banjo), August Sanchez (guitar), Hattie Casper (guitar), Isabelle Parker (fiddle) and Jorja Cornwell (mandolin). The band is mentored by bass player Jef Walter and fiddler Sam Stage.
Loblollies guitarist Hattie Casper told PineCone that she really likes playing with other people “…especially if you can do harmonies with other people and sing with other people. There’s a lot to it and there’s more to learn.”
The band plays traditional and contemporary bluegrass and are sought after as performers at local events. They’ve played IBMA Bluegrass Live, Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival, Merlefest, Beer and Banjos and Raleigh’s Cuegrass Festival.
