Concert
Gmish is a klezmer band featuring the talents of Leah Schinasi (fiddle), Jordan Hutchinson (clarinet), and Phil Blank (accordion/tenor banjo/tsimbl). Together, the trio plays the music of the Eastern European Jews. They focus on the village sound, working from research and scarce recordings from the time and place. Much like Carolina’s old time music, the heart of this dance music comes through clearly, even in its more rustic forms.
