Spend an evening in Wake Forest with Mel Melton & The Wicked Mojos, a smokin’ Zydeco/Cajun flavored blues band out of North Carolina. They’ll perform a free concert in Wake Forest’s E Carroll Joyner Park on Sunday, Sept. 7 as part of Wake Forest’s annual “Wake Forest Unplugged…Get Connected” initiative. Sponsored by the Wake Forest Recreation Advisory Board, the event features free games and activities beginning at 4 p.m., and the concert begins at 5 p.m.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to arrive early: bring a kite to fly, frisbees, balls, and other outdoor activities, enjoy a picnic, and take a stroll along any of the park’s numerous trails.
In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S Brooks St. Weather-related updates will be available by calling the Wake Forest Weather Line at 919-435-9569. Smart phone users who have downloaded the Town of Wake Forest app will receive a push notification message informing them of any schedule change. Download the Wake Forest app
