Close out July with a bang, PineCone Bluegrass style! This Pickin’ in the Plaza concert will feature the two co-hosts of the PineCone Bluegrass Radio Show performing with their respective bands – Larry Nixon will kick things off with Nixon, Blevins, & Gage, and Tim Woodall will close out the night with his chart-topping outfit The Grass Cats. Nixon, Blevins, & Gage combine finger picking, flat picking, and harmony with folk, traditional, religious, and country music wth selections ranging from modern songs adapted to their style to true-to-form preservations of older songs. Raleigh’s own Grass Cats are the only group on an independent label that’s had singles reach #1 on the Bluegrass Unlimted chart, and this year they’re also a showcase band for IBMA’s Bluegrass Ramble! You can get a sneak preview of what’s to come during this Pickin’ in the Plaza concert in downtown Raleigh! Before the music starts on-stage, musicians are invited to jam on the plaza from 5-6:30!
