The day after Christmas, share the gift of music at the FINAL PineCone Bluegrass Jam at the Busy Bee Cafe! The Busy Bee will close at the end of 2016 and reopen in 2017 as Trophy Chicken & Taproom.
Bluegrass musicians have gathered at the Busy Bee every month to share music and camaraderie since 2010. The jam welcomes all musicians looking for opportunities to play bluegrass music and all fans who want to listen and share in the camaraderie! While the PineCone Bluegrass Jam welcomes musicians of all skill levels to participate, it is not a learning jam (often referred to as a “slow jam” in bluegrass circles). However, beginners are welcome – the jam is a great place for musicians to meet and get to know other bluegrass musicians and to learn how the jam runs.
The PineCone Bluegrass Jam is sponsored by Terrapin Beer Company, which donates $1 to PineCone for every pint of Terrapin Rye Pale Ale sold during the bluegrass jam!
Parking in the Moore Square Parking Deck is free after 7 p.m. The Moore Square Parking Deck is only 179 feet NW of the Busy Bee Cafe, and the deck does have an elevator.
Street parking is free in downtown Raleigh after 5 p.m.; if you happen to find a parking space on the street and want to catch a ride to the Busy Bee, you can use the free downtown Raleigh R-Line circulator bus, which runs until 11 p.m. on Monday nights and has a stop just a couple blocks from the Busy Bee (NOTE: the R-Line does NOT stop at Wilmington & Martin after 6:30 p.m.; it does stop at Moore Square).
