  • This event has passed.

Make live music part of your First Friday plans in May with PineCone and Christiane at the City of Raleigh Museum. You can also enjoy the Museum’s exhibits, including one on the history of Raleigh’s Red Cross. You’re welcome to drop in between 6 & 9 p.m. for a laid back evening with fellow PineCone members and music and art lovers. You are welcome to bring non-members as guests, and you can both choose CDs from the PineCone Bluegrass Radio Show vault!

We will provide light hors d’oeuvres, as well as beer (courtesy of Trophy Brewing), wine (courtesy of the Friends of the COR Museum), and non-alcoholic beverages.

Christiane’s debut album, Waiting With the Lights On, due out at the end of April, is elegantly written with thoughtful lyrics meant to provoke introspection and reflection. In exploring music made by women, she was drawn to songs by writers like Dolly Parton and Amy Winehouse, who drew from their own experiences and wrote honestly about their feelings. Christiane has wowed crowds at The Works, Wide Open Bluegrass, Brewgaloo, and the North Carolina State Fair. She has also been featured in Raleigh’s Oak City Sessions. Last year, Christiane was nominated as best Americana Artist by the Carolina Music Awards. Most recently, she was selected from more than 100 performing artists as the 2016 winner of the Deep South Open Mic competition. Her story is just beginning.

Thanks to the City of Raleigh Museum for sharing their May First Friday with PineCone!
