Jam Session
Shape Note Singing is for everyone—beginners and experienced singers are welcome. No prior experience is necessary to participate! Singers in this tradition sing without accompaniment and sit arranged by vocal part in a “hollow square,” facing one another across the square and taking turns at leading. The singers meet in Durham on the second Sunday of each month, and in Raleigh on the fourth Sunday of each month. And save the date of Saturday, March 7 for the annual Sacred Harp Singing Convention!
