In 2016, Sierra Hull became the first woman to earn the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Mandolin Player of the Year award. Her breakout album Weighted Mind, produced by Bela Fleck, was nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Folk Album category for 2017. This album features the young mandolin virtuoso coming into her own as a singer-songwriter. Hull first joined Alison Krauss on stage at the Grand Ole Opry when she was just 11 years old, and she has been astonishing audiences and fellow musicians alike ever since. She was the first bluegrass musician to receive a Presidential Scholarship at the Berklee College of Music. Now a seasoned touring musician nearing her mid-20s, Hull speaks eloquently in her challenging and sensitive original songs, and she continues to break new ground on the mandolin. The Chicago Tribune praised her “crystalline voice;” Rolling Stone listed her performance as one of the 8 best things they saw at DelFest. Joining her for the performance will be Ethan Jodziewicz on bass.
