If you missed Strictly Strings at Wide Open Bluegrass, or you just didn’t get enough of them there, don’t miss your chance to see them in Raleigh one more time, kicking off the Music of the Carolinas. Strictly Strings is an Appalachian old-time band born in Boone from an old-time fiddle class in the Junior Appalachian Musicicians (J.A.M) Program, instructed by Cecil Gurganus. Strictly Strings has been together for three successful years, and they are well on their way to many more. They perform locally, at festivals, private gigs, contra dances, and radio shows. This band truly loves playing together as well as spending time as best friends. Strictly Strings is Kathleen Burnett (fiddle and vocals), Anissa Burnett (bass, fiddle and vocals), Willow Dillon (fiddle, cello, banjo, and vocals), Caleb Coatney (mandolin, guitar and banjo), and Cecil Gurganus (rhythm guitar, vocals). As the senior member of the group, Gurganus also drives the van.

Street parking is free on weekends in downtown Raleigh, and the lot across Wilmington Street from the Museum is also free on the weekend. Learn more about parking options in downtown Raleigh
