The Midtown Bluegrass Series returns to North Hills this spring, and kicking it off will be none other than Lexington, North Carolina’s own Snyder Family Band! Special guests The Lang Sisters will kick off the afternoon’s entertainment with a short set at 4 p.m.

The Snyder Family Band recently released a new album, Wherever I Wander, on the Mountain Home Music label. Anchored by two talented young musicians who take inspiration from not only bluegrass, but also southern rock, blues, Texas swing, and newgrass, this band shares their own unique sound and original music with audiences across the U.S. The Snyder Family Band features siblings Samantha (16) on fiddle and Zeb (19) on guitar. They are joined by their father Bud on upright bass. Their mother Laine often joins them on stage to sing three part harmony. Nine year old Owen makes occasional stage appearances singing, playing the guitar, and generally entertaining the crowd.

The Lang Sisters, Chloe and Jessica, started playing guitar in 2011 and were mentored by talented adults in various bluegrass jams in the Piedmont of North Carolina. They have also participated in PineCone’s Bluegrass Music Camps for Youth. They joined the Chatham County Junior Appalachian Musicians (ChamJAM), (affiliated with the Regional JAM program) in 2012 and remain actively involved with the program, performing extensively at festivals, fiddlers’ conventions, weddings, nursing homes, arts programs, civic and corporate functions, fundraisers and Christian outreach events. The Lang Sisters also performed in 2013 and 2014 at the IBMA Wide Open Bluegrass Festival. And Jessica has taken lessons from Zeb Snyder, too.
