Concert
North Carolina native Tony Williamson is one of the country’s leading mandolin players. Williamson pays homage to North Carolina’s deep heritage of traditional acoustic string-ensemble music, from the lively dance tunes brought by early settlers to the supercharged bluegrass style that emerged after World War II through the genius of legendary musicians such as Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs. A renowned collector of stringed instruments, Williamson will feature several vintage mandolins in the concert.
