Concert
Zingaresca is a duo that consists of Vadim Kolpakov and Oleg Timofeyev. They perform virtuosic music for the Russian seven-string guitar, as well as songs and dances of the Russian and Roma (Gypsy) tradition. In this program, Zingaresca will offer an assortment of Russian-Gypsy music from different times. The concert will feature the duo’s arrangements of guitar music by the legendary guitarist Mikhail Vysotsky (1791-1837), traditional Russian-Gypsy tunes arranged by Kolpakov’s uncle Sasha Kolpakov, and virtuosic variations by the famous seven-string guitarist Sergei Orekhov (1935-1998).
