Hot Rize with special guest Red Knuckles & The Trail Blazers

Saturday, 2011, October 8 - 8:00pm
2 E South St
Raleigh, NC 27601

Hot Rize performances are almost as rare as their studio recordings, as each band member has a highly successful solo career, and PineCone is honored to host Hot Rize in Raleigh during their limited fall 2011 tour. And thanks to The Busy Bee Cafe in Raleigh - they'll be offering a 10% discount on your meal if you bring your ticket stub to eat there before or after the show!

Last year, Hot Rize released its first studio recordings in over 20 years, with newest member (and NC native) Bryan Sutton on guitar. Sutton was recently named the 2011 IBMA Guitar Player of the Year, his sixth time receiving the award. Named after the secret ingredient in Martha White Flour, a long-term sponsor of bluegrass music, Hot Rize formed in 1978 with Tim O'Brien, Pete Wernick, Charles Sawtelle, and Nick Forster. Their dynamic stage show made them stars on the major festival circuit, and their powerful original songs constantly topped radio playlists. Starting in 2002, three years after Sawtelle's death in 1999, O'Brien, Wernick and Forster re-formed the band, adding elite guitarist Sutton to the lineup.
