Watch trailer for A Singing Stream: Reunion, The Grandchildren

The film aired late last year on UNC-TV. This film is a sequel to the award-winning 1985 documentary The Singing Stream: A Black Family Chronicle, which shares the life and legacy of Mrs. Bertha Landis and her family from Creedmoor, North Carolina. The Landis family story is one piece of the history of African Americans in North Carolina - how they combined religious faith and music in the context of their everyday lives can still inform and inspire us today. Members of the family will introduce the film and be part of a question and answer session afterward. They'll also share some gospel music with us, and there will be a reception as well. This event is free for PineCone members and church members to attend; there is a $5 suggested donation for guests.
