Bluegrass/Americana/Old Time Jam

PineCone is excited to expand our reach into the western region of the Triangle with a new combined bluegrass/old time/Americana jam thanks to a partnership with Speakeasy in Carrboro! This jam will meet monthly on the second Monday of each month from 6-9pm. The Piedmont region of North Carolina has a vibrant and varied music scene, which we hope will be well represented through this new jam.

Bluegrass Learning Jam

The PineCone Bluegrass learning jam at Harry’s Guitar Shop on the third Wednesday of the month has been very popular, welcoming beginner musicians and people who want to learn basic jam etiquette before jumping into a traditional jam. This month's featured song will be "Amazing Grace" in the key of A (or the key of "G" with capo on the second fret). Download chord sheets for Amazing Grace

PineCone Youth Jam at Marbles with Jef Walter & Jason Beverly

Calling all youth musicians who play guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and bass! You’re invited to a bluegrass jam just for you and your peers. Come make some music with other young musicians in the area who enjoy playing the same types of music you do!

This jam will include some skill building, a featured song at the beginning of the jam, and plenty of time for jamming together on a variety of other songs, too (sample song list below).

Jason Beverly & Jeff Stickley: First Friday

Make live music part of your First Friday plans this week with bluegrass duo Jeff Stickley (guitar) and Jason Beverly (mandolin). You can also enjoy artwork by Raleigh artist John Lowe, whose colorful acrylic paintings combine impressionistic and flow techniques. Lowe will attend the event as well. You're welcome to drop in between 6 & 8 p.m. for a laid back evening with fellow PineCone members and music and art lovers.
