Kick off this year’s Music of the Carolinas series with Andrew Kasab, a folk, blues, and harp guitarist who combines unconventional approaches to the acoustic guitar and harp guitar, including alternate tunings and percussive picking and fingering techniques, as well as an eclectic mix of American Primitive guitar, contemporary acoustic, funk, rock, folk, classical, blues, and world music. He has four albums to his credit, including Fish, released earlier this year and featuring 24 tracks, including seven new tunes, two live recordings, and more than a dozen tracks from previously made and now out-of-print recordings. In 2013, he released Guitar.Tune.Art, which showcases both standard and progressive approaches to the harp guitar. Kasab released two albums in 2012, titled Blue and Green. In May 2012, Kasab was featured in an article in the Indy Week.
Music of the Carolinas concerts are made possible thanks to the support of Williams Mullen and the NC Museum of History Associates.
