The Town of Cary’s Celebration of Bluegrass features Holler Choir with an opening set from PineCone’s Jam Campers. It’s a free show and is part of the 2024 Performances at Page series.
Holler Choir is widely considered to be a band to watch. Led by the lyrical craftsmanship of singer, guitarist, and songwriter Clint Roberts, the distinctly Appalachian, old-time sound of Asheville’s Holler Choir combines haunting harmonies, stirring string compositions, and heart-wrenching ballads. Some call it a confluence of old-time, Americana, and bluegrass. Robert’s explosive vocal range is met with the dulcet clawhammer banjo of long-time collaborator Helena Rose and the sturdy timekeeping of upright bassist Norbert McGettigan.
This celebratory evening in the garden is the culmination of PineCone’s Bluegrass Jam Camp. Campers will be playing an opening set of material they learned at camp.
