Phil Cook joins Alice Gerrard’s 90th Birthday Show

Phil Cook has been added to the line-up of Alice Gerrard’s 90th Birthday Concert. The concert is Friday July 13 in the AJ Fletcher Opera Theater in Raleigh’s Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. Phil is one of more than a dozen acclaimed artists joining Alice to celebrate this milestone.

Phil Cook is one of the founding members of the hugely influential band Megafaun. He’s worked with Hiss Golden Messenger, The War on Drugs, Ani DiFranco, Blind Boys of Alabama and the Indigo Girls. He also played on Alice Gerrard’s Grammy nominated album “Follow the Music.” He’ll be playing banjo with Alice at the July 13th concert.

In addition to Phil, Alice will be joined by Tatiana Hargreaves (fiddle), Rebecca Branson Jones (pedal steel), Reed Stutz (mandolin) and Jim Watson (bass) and special guests: Kay Justice,  Joe Newberry, Beverly Smith, Andy Cahan, Ginny Hawker, Joseph Decosimo, Eliza Meyer, Phil Jamison, Nora Rogers, Gordy Hinners, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer.
